After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, Dr. Brilliant earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Emory Dental School in 1983. She returned to the University of Maryland - School of Dentistry where she received her certificate in orthodontics and has been in private practice since 1985.
Dr. Brilliant is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, South Florida Association of Orthodontics, and the North Dade Dental Society. She served as president of both the South Florida Association of Orthodontics and the North Dade Dental Society.
The first orthodontist to volunteer for “Our Kids”, a program for foster care, Dr. Brilliant and her staff provide free orthodontic services to five foster care patients at all times. She has been written up in the Miami Herald for her charitable contributions to this organization. She is also Chair of the School Governance Committee at Jacobson Sinai Academy and board member at Temple Sinai of North Dade.
When she is away from the office, Dr. Brilliant enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, Elise and Gerry.
